I think the only reason the world is so infatuated with this man is because he's the only one higher on the 'outrageous' scale than what we are living through daily. We have been watching a concerning amount of television, have you? So much so that we're fearing the day that we'll make our way through every acceptable show on Netflix, or worse still, the internet will cark itself. In our darkest hour, we phoned a friend. A TV friend. He who shall not be named gave us the lowdown on what to watch when you're coming out of a Tiger King binge session.
Devs Modern Sci-fi’s king Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation) is at it again with a deep dive into a sinister Silicon Valley tech company fronted by Nick Offerman pulling off the Mark Zuckerberg of your nightmares. Dave Viral rapper/comedian Lil Dicky stars as Dave, an aspiring rapper, in his own FX comedy series. Think ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ meets ‘Flight of the Conchords’ and you get the picture. Stay inside and laugh. Please. Tales From The Loop We’re going sci-fi again. This one’s an anthology Amazon Prime series based on the work of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag (cool stuff). Each ep we follow different townspeople who live above The Loop, a mysterious machine that explores the wonders of the universe. Also it’s produced by Matt Reeves, who’s directing the new Batman, with Robert Pattinson, which is going to rule! Killing Eve S3 Killing Eve is back baby! If you haven’t watched, we've got an international assassin (Jodie Comer) being hunted down by an MI5 analyst (Grey’s Anatomy’s Sandra Oh) and a healthy dose of sexual chemistry as the horny cherry on top. While we’re here, Jodie Comer is the best actress in the game. Period. This show should just be called ‘Accents’ we’re talking German, Russian, American, Swisse – she nails them all. I’m calling back to back Emmys for Comer right now! Crash Landing On You Since we’re all stuck inside for the foreseeable future now is the perfect time to get into the crazy world of South Korean dramas. Crash Landing On You tells the story of a South Korean heiress who somehow crash lands in North Korea after a paragliding voyage goes horribly wrong. She’s then found by a North Korean captain and THEY FALL IN LOVE! Is it a romance? A comedy? A South Korean version of Fast n Furious (seriously watch the show)? I have no idea but it’s damn entertaining.
